Plastic Kit Cars

Had to chop the roof from this 32 Ford model, since all the existing kits have a stock roof.
Took front suspension, side exhaust and front fenders from other kits and shaved down the rear fenders.
I built this model in the ol skool tradition. It's a Model A sedan with a severe roof chop and huge engine,
all built from left over parts.

It's hard to tell, but I chopped the roof. I was going to rat it out, but didn't like how it looked.
I took a late model Camaro and upped the wow factor.

I also cut down the running boards to keep the angular look.
Here I took a Mercedes roadster and put in twin blown engines.
I wanted to make this old Chevy look like it was never cared for.
To make it looked aged, I took spackle and put it where rust would be likely to be,
then after painting the car yellow, I sponge painted rust color over the car.
I ran some flat black over the chrome to dirty it up a bit.

by rubbing flat black over the parts with a paper towel.
Here I combined a 32 roadster with a Ferrari front and rear end.
I was trying to figure out how I could build my design for this hover car. I had bought a Nissan 380Z
model for it's fuel injected engine and decided that the car body and interior would work.
I added some framework to the car with plastic sheet and it transformed into my vision.
I decided to lose the vertical tails though. They didn't seem to look right.
I have a lot of things going on in this next model. First, I created my own straight 8 engine
using sheet plastic to build the block and intake manifold. The carb intake is a soda straw.
I used bent plastic sprues for the exhaust headers, which empty into a plastic soda straw.
The frame is hand built from plastic rods. I aged the 32 Ford body by hitting it
with a hammer to make the plastic come apart at the seems. I chopped the roof and left it rough
looking and added silver weld spots to make it look unfinished. To age the paint, I wiped flat
black over it with a paper towel.

plastic sprue into the shape I needed. The injector stacks on the engine are actually exhaust pipes.
I call this next one the Batster. I made this car from scratch, using plastic rods and sheets.
The veins in the wings are threads. The bat head I sculpted out of clay.
Being a guitar player, I had to build a guitar car. I don't play a Gibson Flying V, but the shape is
perfect for a car. I cut the guitar shapes out of sheet plastic and glued the images onto it.
The air scoop on the engine is made from tube plastic, as well as the instrument gauges.
The grill is a Fender pick that I cut and inserted a chrome grill into.

air filters from another engine. I made the intake and exhaust from plastic tubes. I used speaker wire for
exhaust pipes coming out of the cylinders. I mounted the engine in a 34 coupe that didn't come with an engine.
